The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly looking into moving from London to Windsor with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Royal expert Katie Nicholl said the town would be the “ideal situation” as the couple would be close enough to the capital to return for royal engagements.
Ms Nicholl claimed William and Kate, who live at Kensington Palace, have “never enjoyed the chaos” of London.
The royal author added they also do not have enough privacy at their palace residence.
The Cambridges also have Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where they often spend weekends and school holidays, but Ms Nicholl pointed out that it is not as close to the capital as Windsor.
The royal biographer told OK!: “Neither William or Kate have ever been London people and have never enjoyed the chaos of the city.
“Whilst their home at Kensington Palace is highly secure, they have often felt overlooked and that they lacked privacy.
“The older their children get, the more apparent this has become.
“They love being at Anmer but they need a base that is close to the capital so they can easily return for public engagements and events.
“Windsor seems like the ideal situation.
“The castle is huge in itself and is the Queen’s permanent residence now but there are other housing options for them.
“Everything is on the table and up for the discussion.”

The Queen has mainly been based at Windsor Castle, rather than Buckingham Palace, since the start of the pandemic.
A source previously claimed Windsor would be the “perfect compromise” for William and Kate.
The insider told the Mail on Sunday: “Anmer Hall made sense while William was a helicopter pilot in East Anglia and it was useful for Christmases at Sandringham, but it doesn’t really work anymore.
“It’s a little too far away for weekends, but Windsor is a perfect compromise.
“They are eyeing up options in the area.”
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are among other royals living in the town.
The Duke and Duchess of York, who divorced in 1996, share their Royal Lodge residence.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank also live at Frogmore Cottage, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s former Windsor residence.
