Kate and Prince William becoming ‘more relatable’ through one key action during crisis
Kate and Prince William have been impacted by coronavirus similarly to everyone in the UK. However, the pair have stepped up their exposure to reassure the public during these uncertain times. Royal experts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie, from podcast Royally Obsessed, insisted the royal couple were letting people see into their personal lives more since the crisis began.
Both royal commentators argued the pair were becoming more relatable as they do video chat calls from inside their homes.
Ms Bowie and Ms Fiorito used the Duke and Duchess’s video call with students and teachers of Casterton Primary Academy during the Easter period as a prime example of this.
Ms Fiorito said: “Kate and William jumped on a Zoom called and Kate called out William for eating all of the Easter candy.”
In the video chat clip, Prince William can be heard saying: “There will be a lot of chocolate being eaten here, don’t worry.”

Kate replied: “You keep eating it”
The two royal commentators joked that the Duchess of Cambridge would have to keep the children away from all the chocolate while William sneaks some away for himself.
The pair also reflected on how both Kate and William have behaved during the coronavirus crisis in the UK and what this has meant for the people of the country.
Ms Bowie said: “These Zoom calls really provide this insight into their lives and their personal goings-on that we don’t normally see.
“It is like the unglossy version of them but I still love to see that side of them.”
Ms Fiorito agreed and replied: “That is such a great way of describing it and I totally feel the same way.
“I feel like it is making them have such a larger presence and makes them so much more relatable to me.”
Due to the coronavirus lockdown scheduled royal traditions had to be cancelled and the royal experts went on to discuss this break in tradition over Easter.

Ms Bowie said: “I was a little sad to not see all the fashions as that is one of my favourite things about seeing the Royal Family altogether.
“We get to see all the different pastel hues that they usually break out for Easter.
“I think that was a little sad to not see but they really did post a lot and commemorate the holiday.
“It was nice, they still put themselves out there and made themselves known, overall it was just nice to see.”
