Royal experts Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito reflected on the latest BBC Prince Philip documentary commemorating his life. While speaking on their podcast, Royally Obsessed, the two discussed what possible reasons Meghan Markle and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge were not included. Ms Bowie argued a reason may have been the media often focusses on the attire of the Duchess’ and this can take away from the subject matter.

The pair agreed it would have been interesting to hear Meghan and Kate’s stories of Prince Philip due to the nature of their relationship with the Duke of Edinburgh.

Ms Fiorito said: “It is interesting to me that Sophie, Prince Edward’s wife and Camilla are included in the documentary but Kate and Meghan weren’t.

“Do you think that is weird?”

Mr Bowie replied: “I think too often, and this is a shame and I wish this wasn’t the case, but it is so much about the fashion they wear and not the subject matter.
