Former rugby player Mr Tindall, who is married to the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips (now Tindall), revealed on his The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast that he was hoping to dish the dirt on the Duchess of Cambridge’s rugby skills to the family. After she participated in a rugby training session at Twickenham Stadium last week, he texted his teammate Ellis Genge to get the lowdown on her sporting abilities.

He said: “I text Ellis and said, ‘Mate, please tell me anything she messed up on’, so I could sort of [mention it in the] family WhatsApp group, get to her.”

However it seems the Duchess’s skills went down a treat.

Mr Genge replied back that she was “actually pretty good and she was really good at kicking”.

Back in August 2019 Mr Tindall had explained the reasons why the Royal family members set up their own group chat, and it’s a situation many of us can relate to.

He said: “It’s just what you do to try and set up get-togethers and we are going to something that is the same.

“If you are going to go, are you going to take the kids?

“Quite a lot of people have family WhatsApp groups.

“I don’t think it’s a new revelation.”

It’s not known exactly who is in the family group chat, or if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still members after their move to California.

Mike Tindall has been married to Zara Phillips since July 30 2011, after she left her number for him when they met in a pub in 2003 in Sydney, Australia.

Rather appropriately they were there watching the Rugby World Cup and couple now have three children together.

Their eldest child, daughter Mia Grace Tindall, was born on January 17, 2014.

She was followed by another daughter Lena Elizabeth in June 2018 and a son Lucas in March 2021.

Their youngest child had quite a dramatic entrance to the world, as it was revealed that he was born on the bathroom floor.
