BBC licence fee: Over-75s have 'had enough' says campaigner

Express.co.uk readers were asked whether non-payment of the BBC licence fee should be decriminalised between 12.54pm and 8.32pm today.

Out of the 3,473 people who voted in the poll, a staggering 3,249 people said yes.

Only 209 people disagreed that the no payment fee should be decriminalised.

And 15 voters said they did not know.

Readers also shared their frustration at the BBC after the free licence fee was scrapped for most-over 75s.

They said: “Why should we have to pay a licence fee anyway?

“Most people have sky, virgin, bt box, and then there are fire sticks, Amazon Prime, Now TV, and numerous other way to watch TV.

“I think BBC should go on an adverts scheme to pay for it, when we have to pay Digital services to be able to watch it.

“So a complete Ban on a Licence should begin ASAP.”

Another person added: “It should be abolished altogether.”
