Announcing his decision on the Government’s move to bring forward a vote on the current Brexit deal today, the Speaker of the House revealed that he would not allow a vote.
 Commenting on his reasoning, Mr Bercow, announced he did not see the reasoning in bringing forward a vote today just 49 hours after Parliament had sat on Saturday.

Following his speech to the House, MP for Cardiff West, Kevin Brennan accused the current Government of playing games with current Brexit process and described the actions of the Government on Saturday as “low-rent jiggery-pokery”.

Insisting that he would not take into account the people involved but rather the actual legislation, Mr Bercow mocked Mr Benn’s voice, doing an impression of the life-long Brexiteer.

In response, Mr Bercow produced an impression of Mr Benn where he said: “It’s about policies not personalities.”
