Joe Biden calls Donald Trump's scowling 'strawberry' hair mugshot 'handsome'

President Joe Biden poked fun at his predecessor Donald Trump’s historic mugshot, in which he seemed to give the death stare and was described as having ‘strawberry’ hair.

Biden broke his silence on the ex-president’s most famous picture yet, while on vacation in Lake Tahoe on Friday afternoon.

When reporters asked Biden about the mugshot released the night before, he laughed and said, ‘I did see it on television.’

‘Handsome guy,’ said Biden. ‘Wonderful guy.’

Biden enjoyed the $18million lakeside home he rented from former Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer, as Trump was booked into Fulton County Jail on charges around his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia.

Trump appeared to be scowling in his mugshot and had his eyebrows furrowed as he gave a piercing stare. His booking sheet described him as being 6 foot 3 inches tall, 215 pounds and with blue eyes and ‘blonde or strawberry’ hair.

The ex-president planned, in consultation with his team, to look defiant and not smile, sources told CNN.

Trump later in the night told Fox News Digital that having his mugshot taken was ‘not a comfortable feeling – especially when you’ve done nothing wrong’.

But his mugshot quickly became iconic, among both his haters and supporters. The Internet was flooded with memes and the Trump campaign immediately began selling official shirts, coffee mugs and other merchandise featuring the mugshot.

Trump reiterated his stance that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ probe ‘is all about election interference’.

Apropos of nothing, I think today’s a great day to give to my campaign. https://t.co/Tj5cURqgQT

‘It all comes through Washington and the DOJ and Crooked Joe Biden – nothing like this has ever happened in our country before,’ Trump said.

As Trump was being booked into jail and getting his mugshot taken, Biden seized the moment to fundraise.

‘Apropos of nothing,’ Biden wrote on X (formerly Twitter), ‘I think today’s a great day to give to my campaign.’
