Julia Samuel, a grief counsellor and founder of the charity Child Bereavement UK, of which Prince William is a patron, was a close friend of Princess Diana’s before her death. As godmother to Prince George, Julia has a close-knit bond with the Royal Family and has previously spoken about how William and Harry have campaigned for better mental health awareness.
Julia, 62, has recently been promoting her new book ‘Every Family Has A Story’ in which the psychotherapist analyses a range of common issues that families across the globe may experience.
Topics of the book range from “loss to leaving home, and from separation to step-relationships” and “how much can be healed when it is faced together” according to its publisher.
As part of the ongoing promotion for the book on family trauma, Julia has been sharing quotes and snippets from it on her Instagram page to open up discussions with her followers.
The latest post caught the attention of royal commentator Richard Eden who claims it’s an “intriguing message” and could have a link to the princes.
Five days ago, the bereavement counsellor and psychotherapist posted the following quote: “At the root of fracture and heartbreak in families, there is often jealousy and competition for what can be seen as the limited resource of love in all those forms.
“It plays out in misery and hurt, and in the consequent battles of siblings and couples or in inter-generational rivalry.”
Reacting to the post in his latest column for Mail Plus, Richard Eden questioned the intention of her words claiming they could be a thinly veiled swipe at the royal brothers.
In his column, the diarist wrote: “Now, the bereavement counsellor and psychotherapist has posted this intriguing message online to promote her new book Every Family Has A Story…..Is she trying to send a message to Princes William and Harry?”
Prince Harry opened up on the fraught relationship he shares with his brother during the couple’s bombshell Oprah interview last year.

During the interview, Harry said that he and his brother “were on different paths”.
He said: “I love William to bits. He’s my brother. We’ve been through hell together.
“We have a shared experience, but we were on different paths.
“The relationship is space at the moment. And time heals all things, hopefully.”
The Duke also claimed his father and brother are “trapped” within the royal system.
Harry said: “My father and my brother, they are trapped.
“They don’t get to leave. And I have huge compassion for that.”

Since quitting royal duties, the Duke of Sussex has only reunited with his brother publicly on two occasions.
The brothers were among the 30 mourners who attended the funeral of the late Prince Philip last April.
Harry and William also reunited in the summer to unveil a statue of Princess Diana in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace.
The pair may also be pictured together in the coming weeks as Prince Harry and his family are visiting the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently released a statement noting they were “excited and honoured” to be making the trip over from America.
The couple also said they would be joined by their two children – Archie and Lilibet – but did not specify which events they would be attending.
Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, are thought to be attending events on the first day of the Bank Holiday weekend including Trooping the Colour.
The couple will join the monarch, and other working members of the Royal Family, on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the traditional RAF flypast.
The Cambridges are then set to travel to Wales for some engagements which will celebrate Her Majesty’s historic reign.
Their trip comes as part of a series of visits organised by the Palace to celebrate the Jubilee across the four nations of the UK.
Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, are visiting Northern Ireland while Princess Anne will travel to Scotland.
Prince Charles and Camilla will be remaining in London with the Queen.
