‘I’ve painted my door pink, white and green and people are still complaining’
A woman who has painted her front door three different colours says the council are still complaining about it, despite her understanding that the dispute was behind her.
Miranda Dickson, 48, from Edinburgh, Scotland, has been left aghast over a council investigation into her front door.
Ms Dickson, who works as a brand ambassador in the drinks industry, was recently ordered to repaint her pink door and is facing a new investigation after an application to paint it green was rejected.
Ms Dickson said the council was investigating again after she decided to paint the door “an off-white”.
Edinburgh Council has allegedly received a fresh complaint that the door was now pink instead of off-white.

Last year Ms Dickson was faced with a £20,000 fine if she did not change the colour of her front door.
Ms Dickson told the BBC she has been left shocked by the latest development.
She said: “I am speechless that someone has complained about this colour as far as I was concerned this chapter in my life was closed.
“I’m shocked and distraught about it. It is definitely not the same colour as it was originally painted – it’s an off-white.”
Ms Dickson added: “I feel bullied and that it has now become personal.”
She received an enforcement notice last year which said her bright pink door did not meet the standards of a house in the World Heritage Site and she was told to repaint it to its original white colour or apply for planning permission.
After a failed appeal, she decided to apply for planning permission to paint it green. Before she received the verdict in April she painted the door green.
However, last week, planners rejected the green door so she decided to paint it off-white and applied for retrospective planning permission.

In a fresh turn to the case, the council received a complaint that the door was pink once again.
Ms Dickson has said she is confused by the uproar around her door as there are several brightly coloured doors in her area.
In response, the council said it could only respond if it received a complaint.
Ms Dickson, a mother of two, had previously spent a year and a half renovating her childhood home after her parents died. She added that she consulted the council’s guidelines before painting her door.
Ms Dickson said: “It’s not like my door is in a bad condition. It costs a lot of money to have the front door painted because they are very large. It’s not a quick job.
“The council needs to act with more clarity over paint colour.”
A spokeswoman for the City of Edinburgh Council said: “We have received a complaint alleging that the door has been repainted pink.
“We’re currently looking into this and so can’t say more at this time.”
