It was clear from reaction on social media that few believed his extraordinary statements and fewer still could understand how the Queen’s son could spend four nights at the home of a convicted paedophile. It was probably the unlikely tale of the long goodbye at Jeffrey Epstein’s mansion which tipped the balance for the blue chip companies which have withdrawn support for Andrew’s pitch@palace. A government minister would have gone well before but Andrew characteristically carried on as if his interview was a resounding success.
Almost certainly, the Queen intervened.
Her son’s failure to mention the plight of Epstein’s young victims spoke volumes.
Andrew is a patently foolish man. Whether he is guilty of the accusations should be decided in court.
But he has other questions to answer: how come the convicted Epstein loaned Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson £15,000, were there any other loans or gifts of any kind?
A survey of his wealth suggests that handsome “fees” were earned from his own networking – a skill learned from his old friend Jeffrey Epstein.
