James Middleton, 34, married Alizée Thevenet in an intimate wedding ceremony at the weekend. The younger brother of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, married his partner on Sunday announcing the news by sharing a smiling photo of the happy couple on his social media account. Express.co.uk has compiled a guide of all the wedding details including the location, guest, clothes and more.

James Middleton met his new bride in London in 2018.

They got engaged in September 2019 and had been due to marry before now, but the plans were delayed several times amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s brother married Alizée Thevenet at the weekend.

The 34-year-old announced his nuptials on Instagram on Sunday, September 12.

He revealed he had married the “love of his life” in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by friends and family.

Location

On Instagram, James told his 219,000 followers: “Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village of Bormes-les-Mimosas.

“Words cannot describe how happy I am.”

Bormes-les-Mimosa is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in southeastern France.

The wedding took place here because Alizée’s family recently acquired a property in the village.

François Arizzi, mayor of Bormes-les-Mimosas who officiated the ceremony, revealed the wedding party celebrated privately at an undisclosed nearby location after the couple exchanged vows.

Also there were Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews, as well as Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton.

James’ beloved dogs Luna and Mabel were also in attendance.

François Arizzi told People magazine: “It was a very nice and very family ceremony.”

In the Instagram post, a picture showed Alizée wearing a white off the shoulder dress and her engagement ring.

James is seen looking equally as happy in a blue shirt, blue tie and a cream jacket.

The French mayor added there was a casual aspect to the attire donned by the Cambridges.

Mr Arizzi told People: “Prince William did not have any formal attire but wore a beige and off-white suit.”

He added the Duchess of Cambridge wore “a long dress of a very light green colour.”

Other details

Mr Arizzi explained all the details of the wedding had been organised with the “utmost discretion”.

The mayor added: “They arrived by plane in Hyères [Toulon] before joining Bormes.

“I was in on the secret, but I could not say anything.

“They had a security detail and we also reinforced security on our side.”
