Husband says wedding planner wife who 'conned brides' should be fed to wolves
The husband of a wedding planner accused of scamming brides across the country has launched a scathing attack against her after she disappeared.
Dana Twidale, 42, vanished after allegations were made that she conned people out of thousands of pounds for their big day.
She has also been accused of fleecing an ex-boyfriend out of more than £10,000 by claiming she needed it for her mother’s funeral – despite the fact her mother was still alive.
Her husband, Carl Twidale, 45, said she should be ‘fed to the wolves’ after the allegations came out.
The couple have been separated for two years and Mr Twidale said he has faced threats by the people Dana scammed, demanding answers.
He said: ‘It was numbing to read about all the scams and I can’t believe she has done this.
‘When I first met her she was lovely, bubbly and you just wanted to be around her.
‘Everybody would say the same but it seems that was all part of the act. She is just wicked and it’s twisted – you can’t do the things she has done.
‘It’s one thing scamming people but preying on their vulnerabilities is just wrong. I’ve started to question now if I ever really knew who she was.’
Carl married Dana in 2015 after a six month whirlwind romance which began at his cousin’s funeral.
Two years ago he filed for divorce saying he had fallen out of love with her but it was never officially finalised.
Carl said he now believes he was also part of a con.
He said: ‘I think we both hoped we might reconcile but now I’ve realised that I was just part of this bigger plan.’
He claims he last saw Dana on July 14 and the following weekend he got a call from the ex-boyfriend wanting to know where his £10,000 is.
Since then, he has also been inundated with messages from brides to say they too had been scammed by Dana’s wedding business.
Carl said: ‘I feel like I’m having to explain myself.
‘People out there have lost money and their special days and I’ve had threats off people on Facebook who have messaged me saying that Dana has ripped their friend off.’
He added: ‘It’s just callous what she has done and I feel stupid and naïve because I’ve been duped too.
‘Somebody said this has been going on for five years which means she was doing it for two years under my nose.
‘Part of me feels so angry and I’m just so sorry to everybody who has been affected.’
Carl also claims his wife owes him around £4,000 for loans he had given her after their split.
Dana has now been logged as a missing person and Carl is desperate to find her because he does not know where Dana’s second youngest child.
He said: ‘I don’t want to help her and they can feed her to the wolves but my only concern now is wanting to protect my family and getting her daughter home.’
