Hundreds of people run from inferno at swanky London restaurant
This is the terrifying moment hundreds of diners had to run for their lives as a fire ripped through a swanky restaurant in London.
Footage shared on social media shows flames engulfing the MNKY HSE restaurant on Dover Street in Mayfair last night.
People can be heard screaming ‘Go, go, go’ and ‘Get out’ as they ran under what appeared to be Christmas decorations that had caught alight.
Some could even be seen tumbling to the floor in the rush to escape the flames, as others ducked and covered their heads.
Another clip posted on Twitter shows the blaze starting in the corner of the Latin American restaurant and spreading across the ceiling within seconds.
Moments later, the flames had spread to nearby tables and chairs and the floor.

Firefighters rushed to the scene just after 9.40pm, shutting Dover Street to drivers.
Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters from Soho, Lambeth, Kensington and Chelsea fire stations attended the incident.
A statement from London Fire Brigade: ‘Christmas decorations inside the building were alight and had been extinguished before firefighters arrived.
‘Around 300 people were evacuated by on-site staff and fire crews carried out a systematic search of the property to ensure no one was inside on arrival.
‘A man and a woman were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.’
It is still unclear what started the inferno, and the owners MNKY HSE have not yet made a statement about the incident.
