Huge smoke plume as fire breaks out in Gravesend
A huge smoke plume can be seen rising over Gravesend in Kent tonight (Friday, June 16). after a fire broke out in an industrial unit.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is urging residents near Gordon Promenade to shut windows and doors. In a statement issued at around 10,15pm, a KFRS spokesperson said: “People living near to Gordon Promenade in Gravesend are advised to close windows and doors due to smoke coming from a fire at an industrial unit.
“Five fire engines are at the scene, where firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are working to extinguish a fire. Please share this information with anyone in the affected area, who might not have access to social media or the internet. Thank you.
“No injuries have been reported.”
