A huge police cordon has been erected after a woman died following a stabbing in Tameside. Police were called to reports of a stabbing in the Droylsden area and are reportedly still at the scene.

The stabbing is understood to have allegedly occurred on Edge Lane, near the bridge.

Reports from the scene indicate there are around five police cars and a van present.

Witnesses have also noted the presence of a police helicopter circling overhead.

The exact nature of the incident has not been confirmed and it is not yet known whether there are any injuries.
