Harry, 37, appeared without his wife Meghan, 40, last night as he watched the Super Bowl in Los Angeles. The Duke of Sussex was joined by his cousin Princess Eugenie at the SoFi Stadium as the Los Angeles Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals. Also in the stands were a string of US celebrities, including Jay-Z, Ryan Reynolds and Ellen DeGeneres. However, Meghan was not beside Harry and Eugenie for the playoff championship of the NFL.

It is unclear if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be back together today to mark Valentine’s Day.

The couple’s home in Montecito is just a couple of hours’ drive up the coast from Los Angeles.

On Valentine’s Day 2019, Harry and Meghan were much further apart as he spent the most romantic day of the year in Norway.

The Duke went to Bardufoss where he met Royal Marines for Exercise Clockwork, an annual cold weather training event.

His separation from Meghan came despite the Duchess previously admitting she was a “sucker” for the day of love.

In a post on her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig, in 2015, Meghan wrote of her love of Valentine’s Day.

She said: “Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine’s Day.

“Without fail, every February 14, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss.

“This is all happening in black and white, of course. And in Paris, if I had my way.”

The Duchess also gave her thoughts on romantic gestures.

She said: “But delusions of Francophile grandeur aside, Valentine’s Day is special wherever you happen to find yourself.

“And in terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower, it really is the thought that counts.”

Meghan also opened up on her expectations for Valentine’s Day messages.

She added: “If given the option between fingers to keyboard, or pen to paper, I will always choose the latter.”

Harry’s 700-mile journey from the UK to Norway was not without romance, however.

The Duke was shown a “shrine” to him and Meghan, set up in a makeshift igloo by a pair of British servicemen Harry was visiting.

The decorations featured candles and an image of the couple on their wedding day, finished off with some romantic music.

Harry was filmed saying: “You weirdos. It’s very kind of you to invite me into your private shrine or whatever you want to call it.

“And the music, is that part of it? Very romantic.”

The Duke was in Norway in his role as Captain General of the Royal Marines, which he took over from his grandfather Prince Philip in 2017.

The former army captain was marking the 50th anniversary of Exercise Clockwork, which was launched in 1969.

Harry has since had to relinquish his role as Captain General after stepping down as a senior royal and moving to the US.
