How Kate and William dialled up the heat at polo, ‘like young couple in love’

Prince William and Kate attend the Royal Charity Polo Cup

Prince William, an avid polo player, will be back in action in the Royal Charity Polo Cup 2023 at Guards Polo Club on Thursday, July 6, to raise money for 11 charities.

The Princess of Wales will also be in attendance to support her husband and meet with charity representatives.

Kate has long been known as a big supporter of William’s polo matches, attending games since their university days. She has even brought the couple’s three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to watch their father on the pitch and extend the Royal Family’s love of the game to the next generation.

And last year, the couple proved how in love they still are, sharing an affectionate kiss and cuddle after the Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup 2022.

The couple gave viewers a rare display of affection, with a body language expert claiming that they “acted like a young couple on a first date” when “flirtatious” Kate congratulated a victorious William.

Body language expert Judi James told the Daily Mail’s Femail that the couple’s “natural chemistry” was on display at the event.

She explained: “Kate’s mimed embrace at the start of the kiss as she throws both arms out to welcome William with the expression of a desire to hug shows how they are tempering or toning down their body language in public. This gesture shows how a full hug would be normal for the couple.”

She added: “The way her legs cross at the ankles. This very girlish gesture suggests she can still get coy when her husband kisses her in public.”

Kate wore a black and white Emilia Wickstead dress and tortoise shell sunglasses as she attended the match with the family dog Orla.

The couple has been together for more than 20 years but Ms James pointed out that their actions suggested they were still as in love as ever.

She added: “They later walked off with their arms around each other’s waists, like a young couple on a first date.

“Their eye contact as they close in for the kiss. This level of close-quarters eye contact shows a very loving relationship.

“Kate’s eye gaze even moves down to William’s lips, which is a flirtatious gesture.”

The body language expert added that the couple were able to show a more “intimate” side to their relationship at the event.

She said: “The lingering. Once the kiss is over they linger in the more intimate and affectionate pose rather than breaking quickly. This is another hint that they are very tactile in private and toning it down in public.”

The couple are known for keeping their distance while on royal engagements but have begun to show more signs of public affection recently.
