In the early days of their royal relationship many British and American royal fans viewed her with suspicion, especially after the world lost Princess Di in the tragic car crash in Paris in 1997. But Camilla has worked hard both at her royal duties and at winning over the hearts and minds of Britain and the wider world. And today, on her 73rd birthday, it was no surprise that a newly released picture of her immediately won thousands of likes on Instagram and an even bigger number of words of warmth and affection from fans.
The Duchess of Cornwall posed for the summery picture in the gardens of Clarence House to mark her 73rd birthday.
In the vibrant shot, the Duchess is seen candidly smiling at the camera, wearing a bright blue dress, surrounded by greenery in the garden.
The post, shared to Clarence House’s official Instagram account, has already racked up more than 12,000 likes.
Along with the image, a caption read: “A new photograph of The Duchess of Cornwall has been released to mark Her Royal Highness’s 73rd birthday tomorrow.

Coronavirus was ‘dormant’ for MONTHS before pandemic [REVEALED]
The Duchess has recently been seen out on more face-to-face engagements after working from home for during the coronavirus lockdown.
During those months, she gave royal fans a glimpse of her life during the pandemic during virtual engagements.
And earlier this month, Camilla opened up about her lockdown struggles and joys when she guest-edited BBC Radio 5 Live’s The Emma Barnett Show.
During the discussion she admitted she missed her grandchildren greatly and could not wait to hug them.
She said: “You eventually get to meet them, you’re so excited because you haven’t seen them for three-and-a-half months and your first reaction is to run up and hug them, and you have to sort of put up your hands.
“It’s a very odd feeling, I shall look forward to the day when I can give them a huge hug again.”
The Duchess also said she had been enjoying wearing jeans, adding: “I’ve been very, very happy with my jeans.
“It will be very hard to get out of them again.
“I think you get into a sort of way of life, don’t you?
“Lockdown Zoom fashion is very interesting because everybody can look very smart on the top but I think if somebody took a camera underneath, they’d find some very interesting sights.”
