The number of people being admitted to hospital for coronavirus on Sunday was the highest since the beginning of July 1, new data has shown.

There were 153 people admitted into hospital on September 13, bringing the total number of admissions to 115, 097. There were 201 people admitted to hospital on July 1.

Patients in England who tested positive for the virus in hospital or within 14 days prior to admission were included in the data, which was published on Tuesday.
