The Midland Metro tram network was suspended between Wolverhampton St George’s and The Royal in the Horseley Fields area of the city while the crash was cleared.
And Black Country Live reports there were huge traffic delays following the smash.
A major roundabout was blocked in the city centre and traffic was diverted onto the A41 – Bilston Road – which was subsequently busy through the city centre and into the Monmore Green area.
A suspect was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in connection with the incident.
