Police have cordoned off part of Bristol city centre after a man was stabbed to death. Police and ambulance crews were called at around 4.30pm yesterday after reports of a man being attacked with a knife in the Castle Park area.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital by the ambulance service, where he later died.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: “The man’s identity has not yet been formally confirmed and we are still working to trace his next of kin.

“A cordon is in place while officers carry out enquiries at the scene.”

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident in the park, or who have relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage, which could help the investigation.

Photographs taken at the scene this morning showed large numbers of police officers in the area.

Anyone with information is being asked to call 101 and quote reference 5223024599.

They can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 percent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form.

No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and there is no requirement to go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers.
