Heartwarming moment Kate and Prince William race across lawn to greet children

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had just returned by helicopter from their trip to Cumbria last Tuesday. The video, taken by a royal fan and shared to the account Mind Foundry, shows Kate and Will speedily walking across the lawn towards their three children George, Charlotte and Louis. Kate and Will can be seen dressed in casual outfits, after returning to London from their visit to Deepdale Hall Farm in Patterdale. The behind-the-scenes footage, which also shared by the Instagram page ‘Tea time with the Cambridges’, was captioned: “When one of the first videos of William and Kate arriving back at Kensington Palace after their day of engagements in Cumbria was posted, I noticed how fast they were walking and jokingly said, ‘They must be rushing back to the kids’…and it looks like I was right!

“In this video you can see what looks like all three Cambridge babies waiting for their Mum and Papa to return home from work!

“Near the end you can hear what I am 99.9% sure is Charlotte giggling and saying ‘mama!’

“We only have about a year or less of videos like these as recently, new hedges were planted around the gates to block people from seeing the royals arriving and leaving (don’t know how well they’ll work)!”

Royal fans reacted to the heartwarming video, with one commenting: “I love the ‘awws’ in the video.

“So cute they are in a hurry to see their kids.”

Another added: “So awesome”.

The royal couple travelled to Cumbria last Tuesday where they visited a sheep farm and joined local schoolchildren for an environmental education session.

The couple also joined the Cumbria Wildlife Trust on a nature walk.

The visit was a busy day of engagements that saw the couple meet the locals and sample some of the produce on offer in the region.

The couple spoke to locals about issues facing their livelihoods including Brexit and rural isolation.

Earlier in the day, the duchess tried her hand at sheep shearing and giggled as the animal tried to escape her grip as she shaved off its wool.

It emerged that Kate and William also popped in to the Inn on the Lake in Ullswater for a royal refuel after a jam-packed day of duties.

The Prince, 36, and his wife, 37, indulged in the afternoon tea for two package from a private luxury room overlooking a Lake Ullswater.

The savouries, all home made, are served alongside a selection of sweet treats including a mini sherry trifle, macaroons and sponge cakes.

Scones are also served as part of the tea with clotted cream, butter and jam.

The inn’s £23 afternoon has sandwiches with various fillings including Appleby Creamery cheddar cheese & sweet pickle and cucumber & creme fraiche with black pepper.

The four-star hotel published photos of the royal couple on its website, showing mum-of-three Kate chatting with the owner’s young son.
