Piers Morgan 'doubling down' on Meghan Markle criticism says host

Express.co.uk polled readers after US talk show host Gayle King shared snippets of private conversations the brothers had following the explosive Oprah Winfrey chat. During the incendiary 90-minute sit down last month, Meghan Markle and her husband levelled accusations of racism at the Royal Family.

The revelations by Ms King, who is a friend of the couple, left the future king “reeling”, according to sources.

Now Express.co.uk readers have had their say, and conclusively ruled the leak did destroy any remaining trust between the once-close brothers.

An overwhelming 98 percent (3,425) of Express.co.uk readers polled said ‘yes’ when answering the question: “Has Prince Harry destroyed trust with William after the phone call leak?”

Just two percent (51 respondents) disagreed.

Less than one percent of people (25) answered “didn’t know”.

As well as airing their resounding views through the poll, dozens publicly shared their thoughts on the Megxit scandal.

One person wrote: “Of course he has. The Royal Family will be guarded on everything they now say to the pair.

“My advice: Don’t speak to the pair, write very short emails, remove any pleasantries, opinions, views etc.”

Another said: “Remove their titles, pass a bill to remove them from the line of succession, banish them from UK as their presence is ‘not conducive to the public good’.

“Then forget about them and move on. It is becoming demeaning and boring.”

A third raged: “Harry has done the unthinkable, turned his back on his brother and his family. Trust Harry? Never again, never.”

Meanwhile, another questioned: “Destroyed trust with his brother? Who knows, we certainly don’t. That is something only his brother William can answer.

“If I was his brother, I’d never directly speak to him again. I certainly think he has managed to destroy any trust the country had in him.”

Ms Gayle said on CBS This Morning on March 16 that the two brothers had been in touch after Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview.

She said: “Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father, too.

“The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive.

“But, they are glad they at least started a conversation.”

A source later told US Magazine: “William was left reeling (after the phone call leak)

“He says it was a cheap shot to leak details of their private call.

“He added that his brother has twisted the truth.”

According to a Palace insider, the Duke of Cambridge and members of the Royal Family are having a hard time moving on from the claims made in the interview.

Meghan suggested her son Archie was not made a prince because of his race, even though rules set by George V meant he was not entitled to be one.
