The Conservative leader has faced increasingly vocal calls, including from inside his own party, to step down as fury over the Partygate scandal continues to snowball. Last week, Mr Johnson apologised in the House of Commons after he admitted attending one party at Number 10 that would have likely breached rules that his Government wrote.
Just days later Downing Street apologised to the Queen after it emerged that two parties were held on the eve of Prince Philip’s funeral last April.
At least five Tory MPs – including outspoke Brexiteer Andrew Bridgen – have confirmed that they have submitted letters of no confidence in Mr Johnson.
A total of 54 MPs need to write letters to the party’s 1922 committee to trigger a leadership contest.
Labour’s Sir Keir Starmer has also joined ranks with the SNP and Lib Dems to all publicly call for the Prime Minister to step down.
And while opposition parties seeking to hammer the final nail in a Prime Minister’s coffin is no surprise, the revelations have sparked an outcry among many Express.co.uk readers.
Erb raged: “The clown really has no shame, he’s sat in no 10 while the country including many Tory voters are disgusted.
“He will be tuned into the news constantly and how he can listen and watch how the country feels and still think he should stay put is blatant disregard for anyone except his own personal interests.”

However, the Prime Minister was not without his supporters.
A reader with the username EU don’t have the monopoly on trade wrote: “Boris has the UK economy almost back to per pandemic levels.
“I would say the vast majority of people couldn’t care less about the party they’re more worried about the cost of living and how the government is going to handle that.”
Speaking in the Commons, Mr Johnson told MPs that he attended the event to “thank groups of staff” but “with hindsight I should have sent everyone back inside”.
He added: “I believed implicitly that this was a work event.
“With hindsight, I should have sent everyone back inside.
“I should have found some other way to thank them.”
