Harry’s relationship with royals ‘tense’ ahead of Coronation – source

Prince Harry and Meghan ‘selfish on every decision’ says Kelly

Prince Harry’s relationship with the Royal Family is currently marked by a “lack of trust” ahead of the Coronation, a royal insider has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex has confirmed he will attend King Charles’s historic event on May 6, putting an end to months of speculation.

The Duke will be attending the Coronation without his wife, Meghan Markle, and his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, all of whom will remain stateside.

While the move may be seen by some as extending an olive branch following the releas of the Duke’s tell-all memoir, Spare, reports suggest little has changed within the Firm.

A source has told Entertainment Tonight: “Relationships between Harry and Meghan and the family are still very tense.

“The family will be cordial because the King wants his son at his Coronation but there will be no meaningful conversation as there’s still a lack of trust given the revelations in his book and the Sussexes Netflix documentary and the allegations in the Oprah interview.”

Speaking to the US outlet, another source shared the royals are surprised that the Duke is attending without Meghan.

“There were still several members of the family who expressed surprise she had decided to stay home,” they said.

But according to The Telegraph, who spoke to a friend of the Sussexes, Harry reached out to Charles personally before confirming he would attend.

They claimed there had been some “positive conversations” between the father and son.

However, the report suggested Harry did not speak to Prince William as part of this reconciliation.

Meghan and Harry risk ‘contradiction’ over Archie and Lilibet titles[UPDATE]

Announcing Harry’s attendance, Buckingham Palace said: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.

“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

While his attendance is confirmed, it is unclear the role he will play in proceedings.

Prince William will reportedly play a “significant” role, and his son, Prince George, will form part of the procession through the nave of Westminster Abbey.

The development follows royal author Robert Jobson claim that Meghan “captivated” Charles with her “intelligence” and interest in British culture.

In his book, Our King: Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed, the author claimed: “Charles was captivated by Meghan’s intelligence and vivacious personality.

“He remarked, ‘She makes Harry happy. We could not like her more.”

Meghan previously hailed Charles in her Netflix documentary, in which she said it was “important” to her to have a close relationship with her father-in-law following the breakdown of her bond with her own father.
