Harry’s ‘nervousness and embarrassment’ when talking about Meghan laid bare
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rumours discussed by Schofield
Prince Harry seemed to exhibit signs of “nervousness” and “embarrassment” while discussing his first date with now-wife Meghan Markle back in 2016, according to a body language expert.
In their Netflix series Harry & Meghan the couple explained how they first met on Instagram and then agreed to meet at Soho House at 76 Dean Street when Meghan was in London.
However the Duke admitted he kept Meghan waiting for around half an hour after getting stuck in traffic, revealing: “I was panicking, I was freaking out, I was sweating.”
Body language analyst Darren Stanton told the New York Post that Harry’s “tell-tale signs” betrayed his “true emotions” as he did not appear as confident on camera as his wife.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino Mr Stanton said: “Whilst speaking about their first date, Prince Harry started to go a little bit red, which is congruent with embarrassment. He then started to touch his face and nose – signals which are referred to as pacifying gestures.

“Even though Meghan and Harry are in the present day speaking about their first date, the unconscious mind of Harry is triggering all of those past feelings and that is why we saw him go red and become fidgety.”
He explained that Harry touching his face suggested he has the “urge to shy away from” talking about his and Meghan’s relationship and seemed “jittery and quite nervous”.
Meghan on the other hand he noted was “the most confident” as her body language demonstrated her “composure”.

Mr Stanton added that when Harry compared Meghan to his late mother Princess Diana he really feels it to be true, which could be why he was so strongly attracted to her in the first place.
Harry said in the documentary: “So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion. She has the same empathy. She has the same confidence. She has this warmth about her.”
Mr Stanton then elaborated: “When Harry was speaking about Meghan, I did not see any signs of deceptive behavior or that he was faking his emotions for the cameras.
“His body language and behavior seem to be totally congruent with what he is thinking. From his non-verbal communication, it’s apparent that he truly believes Meghan is similar to Diana.”
Since Harry’s tell-all revelations in his memoir Spare public opinion in the UK has somewhat turned against him, which commentators have claimed have put a “strain” on his and Meghan’s relationship.
However friends of the couple have rubbished rumours that their marriage is on the rocks, saying they are “literally made up”.
