Harry worried juggling clip in Meghan's 40th birthday video 'would look weird'

Prince Harry was afraid he’d ‘look weird’ when he made a guest appearance in Meghan Markle’s 40th birthday video.

The Duke of Sussex was seen juggling in the window of the couple’s Montecito mansion as his wife joked around with actress Melissa McCarthy last week.

Speaking about the experience, the Bridesmaids star said she felt it showed how the often-criticised couple ‘don’t take themselves too seriously.’

The film launched 40 x 40, Meghan’s new initiative which encourages women around the world to give 40 minutes of their time to help another women get back into work after the pandemic.

Towards the end, Harry appears in sunglasses and starts juggling as part of a mock blooper reel.

Speaking during the press tour for her new Hulu show, 9 Perfect Strangers, McCarthy said: ‘She’s [Meghan] doing such an amazing thing to celebrate her 40th.

‘I just love that she is like, “Oh, what can I do to put some good and help some people out?” Well that is awfully nice.

‘Then in comes Harry and he’s like, “I can juggle”…Then he’s like, “Is it going to be weird if I stand outside and juggle?”

‘I was like, “Weird in a way that will make me watch it five million times!”

Meghan has recruited 40 activists, athletes, artists and world leaders to participate in the project including singer Adele, poet Amanda Gorman, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and fashion designer Stella McCartney.

McCarthy praised the couple for the work they’ve done since leaving their jobs as senior royals.

‘They were so sweet and funny. I just find them very inspiring,’ she said.

‘They’re carving out their own lives. They’re carving out their lives for their kids.

‘The way she wants to celebrate her 40th is by helping and empowering other women.

‘How do you not get behind that? They don’t take themselves to seriously.

‘She said: “Let’s do it in a fun way and see if we can drum up more people helping more women kind of get back into the workforce… I was so pleased to be a part of it.’
