Harry torn apart by US author who says ‘Syrian refugees complain less’
An author has been starkly honest about her opinion on Prince Harry as she slams him for “complaining”. Author Fran Lebowitz, who appeared in Netflix show Pretend It’s a City, spoke about some of the claims made in Harry’s memoir Spare as she reminisced on her experience in London when she visited in the past. Lebowitz, from New Jersey, told the i: “This thing now with Prince Harry, can you imagine a family where William is a smart one? I mean, there are people in Syrian refugee camps who I’m sure complained less.”
The 72-year-old added: “Ask any man who has a brother if his brother ever hit him, 100 percent will say yes. They’re boys, that’s when they do that, you know? If you had an older brother, and you’re a girl and you said he hit you, that’s a different thing.”
The writer is set to embark on a 10-day tour of the UK and Ireland with a show as she speaks about a range of topics from gay rights to celebrity culture.
And thankfully for her, the dates of her visit are not set to fall on the Coronation as she worried London would be “shut down”.
She said: “I was afraid the Coronation would be while I was there, because I’m certain that whenever the Coronation is, London gets shut down
“But, it turns out the Coronation is not when I’m there. So you’re free to have your Coronation, which might seem silly, even to English people.
“I mean, it’s 2023. A King? A Queen? It seems ridiculous.”
Lebowitz’s comments were in relation to a claim Harry made in his tell-all memoir about Prince William.
The Duke of Sussex had claimed that he got into an altercation with his brother which resulted in him smashing into a dog bowl.
But this wasn’t the first claim he made about the Prince of Wales, as in his Netflix show Harry & Meghan he suggested the brothers had had a number of confrontations since his marriage to Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
He said during a meeting to discuss their move to the US, William had “screamed and shouted” at Harry.
Harry also suggested that he had been forced to step down as a working royal following his decision to move.
He currently resides in California with his wife Meghan and their two children Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.
