Prince Harry does an impersonation of the Queen in a documentary film about his grandfather which airs this week.

Prince Philip: The Family Remembers features new interviews with all of his children and adult grandchildren, including William and Harry.

The episode has been seen by Metro.co.uk ahead of its release on BBC One on Wednesday night.

A section shows Harry scanning Philip’s flight logs from a 1983 royal tour which took him to Geneva, Nairobi, Jakarta and Delhi.

Harry said: ‘He was doing all the flying himself, or certainly chunks of it.

‘When you’re flying, you don’t get an easy pass just for being the Duke of Edinburgh. You very much have to put in the work and prove your skill.

‘But also he had an amazing privilege to get behind the controls and fly aircraft all around the world.

‘I can just imagine my grandmother sitting in the back of a plane having a cup of tea, going through turbulence and going “Oh Philip! What are you doing?”’

The logs show Philip made his first flight in November 1952. Alexandra McCreery, who started working for Philip in 1988, told the show he had wanted to join the RAF because he enjoyed the camaraderie with pilots, but ended up entering the Navy.

The Duke flew ‘many, many’ different aircraft, including helicopters and fixed-wing planes such as Concorde.

The programme was commissioned originally to mark the Duke of Edinburgh’s 100th birthday.

In another segment Prince Charles recalled how he tried to talk to him about his centenary celebrations.

They turned out to be the last words Philip would say to his son before he died aged 99 in April.

Harry also spoke for the first time about how Philip gave him the space to talk about serving in Afghanistan.

The Duke of Sussex was twice deployed to Helmand province during the UK’s military operations, and in the programme he described how his grandfather would ‘never probe’ but listen.
