Prince Harry’s reluctance to speak about Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, does not come as a “huge shock”, according to royal commentators. The Duke of Sussex “hardly mentioned” his father and step-mother in an old interview in which he spoke warmly about other family members like the Queen and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. The List narrator Christine-Marie Liwag Dixon explained why this may be the case.

She told viewers: “The royals are known for being private.

“They reportedly rarely talk about their feelings, the inner workings of the family, the experiences that they go through, or the realities of being royal.

“However, Prince Harry sat down with Newsweek in 2017 for an interview.

“And he was surprisingly forthcoming about the dynamic that he had with his family members.”

Ms Liwag Dixon continued: “Harry called the Queen ‘remarkable’, something we can all agree on.

“He then talked about his late mother, Princess Diana, sharing that she did everything she could to make his life fun and safe.

“Harry hardly mentioned his father, Prince Charles, and his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles.

“Given the history there, doesn’t come as a huge shock.”

The narrator added: “When William asked Kate to marry him, Harry called her the sister he’d never had.

“Newsweek also reported that Harry had made a habit of going over to his brother and sister-in-law’s for dinner at Kensington Palace, as Kate would make him his favorite meals.

“These two clearly have a very special bond.”

Both Harry and Prince William have managed to develop a good relationship with Camilla through the years.

According to the BBC, a 21-year-old Harry called Camilla “a wonderful woman”.

He added: “She’s made our father very, very happy, which is the most important thing.

“William and I love her to bits. To be honest with you, she’s always been very close to me and William.

“But no, she’s not the wicked stepmother. I’ll say that right now.”
