Harry and Meghan using ‘B-list star playbook’

Piers Morgan lambasts Prince Harry over privacy hearing

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “pulling moves out of the B-list star playbook” as the Royal Family continues to be welcomed positively in Europe, according to a royal commentator. Daniela Elser, who regularly writes a column about royal life, suggests criticism of the Firm by the Sussexes has had little impact on the continent.

She also noted glitzy appearances by Harry and Meghan at Los Angeles hotspots, describing how they “seem to be playing the Hollywood game”.

Elser notes how Charles and wife Queen Camilla’s first state visit to Germany “has seen huge crowds gather to try and catch a peek of the septuagenarian power couple”.

“Similar scenes played out when Their Majesties visited a Berlin market where the Kinder (or whatever young people are in German) seemed quite excited to get up close and personal with the King and Queen,” she added.

Writing for news.com.au, Elser said: “What seems clear is that the Royal Family’s image overseas, or at least in Europe anyway, is tickety-boo.

“Soon, we will hit the point where the couple will have been in North America for twice (40 months) as long as they lived in the UK after their wedding (20 months).

“While the Royal Family are off being welcomed like junior members behind the scenes, the Sussexes seem to be, for whatever reason, pulling moves out of the B-list star playbook.”

It comes after Harry returned to the UK following his “eviction” from Frogmore Cottage.

Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie discussed reports suggesting the Duke, 38, was opting to stay with friends.

“I also saw he could be staying with Princess Eugenie. Obviously, they’re very close,” Fiorito said.

“It is a big question because he’s out of Frogmore Cottage at the end of March, that timing would also work out.”

However, insiders told The Sunday Telegraph Harry opted to stay at Frogmore Cottage during his trip.

He is also believed to have used the time to sort out the couple’s belongings to be shipped back to the US.

Harry and Meghan were asked to vacate Frogmore, on the grounds of Windsor Castle, earlier this month.
