Harry and Meghan ‘ostracised’ by royals as ‘reputation falling’ after Endgame

Prince Harry and Megan Markle are being “ostracised” by the Royal Family as their reputations plummet following the scandalous revelations in Omid Scobie’s book, public relations experts have claimed.

Endgame is believed by many to have been written with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s blessing.

Mr Scobie has denied claims he is a mouthpiece for the couple but, on the When It Hits The Fan podcast, PR expert and former tabloid editor David Yelland said the furore over the book is damaging the pair.

Even though two alleged “royal racists” who reportedly commented on Prince Archie’s skin colour were named in the Dutch version of Endgame, Mr Yelland said: “I think there is not a reputational crisis for the Royal Family at the moment.”

But he said: “Believe you me, behind the scenes Harry and Meghan are being ostracised … They are the people whose reputation is falling.”

Warning that the United States and Britain are two very different countries with separate cultures, Mr Yelland added: “The people that Harry and Meghan are listening to in Hollywood in particular are not the people that can help them.

“I do really worry about the quality of advice around Harry and Meghan. I think it’s very bad and it is not serving them.

“At the moment they’re fighting the very media that the Royal Household here are inevitably courting.”

Copies of the Dutch edition were quickly retracted from the shelves, with Mr Scobie denying that he had anything to do with the blunder – but Piers Morgan and others named the accused royals.

Scobie refuses to apologise for names appearing in book

The Express has decided not to name the alleged “royal racists”.

Podcast co-host Simon Lewis, a former communications secretary to Queen Elizabeth II, added that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have to be “careful” after a Tory MP suggested stripping the couple of their royal titles.

Bob Seely has even tabled a Bill in Parliament that would reduce the pair to a plain Mr and Mrs.

While Mr Lewis said it was a “nuclear option” that is “not even being considered now”, he added: “If it was to happen, there is no way back.”
