Kensington Palace has shared three photographs as part of the future king’s birthday celebrations on Monday. In one photo, George is seen laughing as he lies playfully in the garden of their home at Kensington Palace, wearing a white England football home shirt. A second photograph again also shows George in the same shirt, while showing a toothy grin at the camera.

The third picture shows the young looking happy on a family holiday.

He is wearing a green polo shirt and striped blue and white shorts and stood outdoors in front of a leafy backdrop.

Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, at 4.24pm on July 22, 2013.

He also weighed 8lb 6oz.

Kate and Prince William quickly showed off their firstborn son to the world’s media on the hospital steps.

He was wrapped in a white merino wool shawl.

George is a great-grandchild of the Queen and he will be the 43rd monarch since William the Conqueror, if he becomes king.

George’s birthday is predicted to be a low-key affair, as he will spend the ay with his parents and siblings Princess Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Prince Louis at the family’s country estate, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.

George has also reportedly made one request for the day.

He wants Monday’s celebration is a small and relaxed family gathering.

This will be different to his fifth birthday, which was spent playing on a beach on the luxurious Caribbean island of Mustique.

It was earlier thought the Cambridges would return to the private island over the summer holidays, as it is said to a favourite spot for Kate and William.

Remaining in the UK means George may also be a small celebration with his school friends from Thomas’s Battersea in south London, the Sun has reported.

The Prince has just completed Year 1 at Thomas’s Battersea school.

This September he will begin Year 2, which will be his final year in the Lower School, before he moves to the Middle School.

Charlotte will be joining her older brother at the private school, where the most important rule is to be kind.

Yearly fees for George are £19,287 while Charlotte is given a slight discount for being a second child at £18,915.

The new school year will bring a few changes for George, with Thomas’s asking Year 2 children to become more responsible, including recording their own homework in their diaries, so the “increasing independence allows for a smooth transition to the Prep School”.
