‘Grotesque BETRAYAL!’ Brexiteer stuns Soubry and reveals Change UK’s ‘CYNICAL Brexit ploy’

Telegraph Royal Editor Camilla Tominey argued that Anna Soubry and Change UK had a “cynical” Brexit ploy to stop Brexit. She added that revoking Brexit would be an even more “grotesque betrayal” to Leave voters and time has run out for the Change UK Remain party. While on BBC’s Politics Live Mrs Tominey said: “Again we have had a situation where MPs are voting for what they don’t want, not what they do.

“But we have now got a situation with Anna Soubry and Change UK saying that their position isn’t to support a second referendum but an actual revocation.

“This is an even more grotesque betrayal of the Leave vote than a second referendum.”

Mrs Soubry then interrupted to say: “We are just the alternative to crashing out of the EU”

The Telegraph Editor snapped back: “You all triggered Article 50 Anna and now you are trying to revoke it.

“This is a cynical ploy isn’t it by you and your running mate Chuka Umunna because you have realised you have run out of time.

“The second referendum as a concept has run out of time and it has run out of money.

“This whole talk about we must get on with Brexit, in what possible way does a revocation or a confirmatory vote get on with it.

“It takes months to arrange and costs millions.”

The Change UK member then attempted to argue that the Tory and Labour party have been running down the clock with the cross-party talks.

She added that Change UK sought a referendum out of a desire to prevent a no deal Brexit from impacting the country and damaging livelihoods.

Later on, in the show, the pair clashed again this time focussing on no deal Brexit preparations.

The Telegraph editor said: “If you are so worried about this disastrous WTO exit, you must be pushing for more no deal preparations.

“I expect you to be absolutely pushing for more no deal preparation.”

Mrs Soubry replied that she “absolutely” did not want more money being put into no deal preparations.

Mrs Tominey snapped: “So you want us to go off this cliff edge as you call it.

“This is counter-intuitive and I just don’t get it.”
