Officers have cordoned off Glasgow Central Mosque amid an ‘ongoing police incident’.

Police were called to the scene at around 3.40am this morning, and have remained at the scene since.

The entrance was still taped off and the site on lockdown at 6.45am this morning.

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed to Metro.co.uk that it is an ‘ongoing police incident’, but did not offer any further explanation.

Glasgow Central Mosque is the biggest mosque in Scotland.
