The fulsome praise was prompted by a now-deleted tweet by a former member of the IRA, which featured a vile tirade about The Princess of Wales’s appearance. Tim Brannigan, who self-describes as a “black Irish socialist writer”, made unkind remarks about The Princess’s figure at Wimbledon.

He described her as a “prim, anaemic and vacuous woman”. Brannigan ranted: “The media gushes at her insipid presence like she adds something to the spectacle.”

“Her talentless, boney arse being there for all the big games every year is ******* annoying to be perfectly honest,” he added. The tweet “outraged”‘ GB News presenter Dan Wootton, who discussed it on air with Lady Colin Campbell and Phil Dampier.

Royal biographer and socialite Lady Colin said: “It’s totally uncalled for. Katherine Wales is a very good-looking woman.

“She’s an ectomorph. Ectomorph’s don’t have a lot of fat on their body.

A visibly amused Wootton agreed. “Oh goodness me. Yes, she does. Absolutely,” he said, between fits of laughter.

Phil Dampier said: “I don’t think we have to take too seriously what this guy says. Apparently, he went to jail for buying some explosives and some guns for the IRA he was a member of the provisional IRA, so I don’t particularly take much notice of what he says.

“On a general point, it shows how the woke left is rattled. As Harry and Meghan’s star starts to fade, we can see how popular Wiliam and Kate are, you saw that at Wimbledon. Everyone loves the glamour of seeing them.”
