Furious caller attacks ‘disgraceful’ MPs for Brexit chaos and calls on Queen to intervene
LBC caller Paul, from Southampton, told Nick Ferrari he believes that MPs who defected from their original parties over Brexit should not be allowed to sit in the House of Commons unless by-elections in their seats are run. The Brexiteer branded Remainer MPs as “disgraceful” and called for the Queen to intervene and solve the political impasse once and for all. He said: “I think it’s disgraceful the way they just carry on.
“All these MPs who have just crossed the floor should be in a mandatory by-election and they should not be allowed to sit in the House.
“They have no mandate to sit in the House.
“And all these MPs up in the North it’s disgraceful the way that they’re carrying on.
“Our Parliament is just a waste of time and I think as the Queen is the head of state she should come out and solve it.
“It needs to be done.”
It comes as MPs voted against the Government on Saturday to force the Prime Minister to ask for a Brexit extension as well as delaying any meaningful votes on his Brexit proposals.
Mr Johnson is adamant he now has a majority in Parliament in favour of his deal and will try to put it before the Commons later today (Monday).
But the decision rests in the hands of Speaker John Bercow who will also be in charge of deciding whether to approve motions to amend the deal before MPs vote on it.
The Labour Party has pledged to present an amendment to the Prime Minister’s deal that could force him to attach the promise of a confirmatory referendum to the deal.
Anger boiled over after Sir Keir Starmer and John McDonnell vowed the party would call for another public vote to be brought forward when the Prime Minister again asks MPs to back his deal with the EU.
It comes amid reports last night that Brussels was considering granting a Brexit extension until February.
Sir Keir confirmed Labour will also try to change the deal to include the UK being in a customs union with the European Union after Brexit in a move that would potentially torpedo the whole agreement.
The Brexit-wrecking plan was met with outrage from Tory MPs last night. Tory Brexiteer Nigel Evans said: “They have finally been smoked out as the wrecking Remainers they are.
“No to no deal, no to a deal, no to an early election – and reneging on their election manifesto of just two years ago.

“It’s been delay after delay after delay, and the next stage is to wreck the deal.
“People know that a customs union and a single market is simply not Brexit.
“A second referendum is nothing more than a short term self-protection device where their own jobs are not at risk.”
Conservative MP Philip Davies said: “Labour’s amendments are all about overturning the referendum result, but they haven’t got the guts to tell their northern working-class voters.
“However, those voters are not as stupid as Labour’s London-centric leadership think they are. When Labour finally have the guts for a general election, they will find that out.”
