Furious Brexiteer dismantles Remainer radio host’s tired ‘Project Fear’ Brexit argument

Lorraine, a staunch Brexiteer and believer in a no deal Brexit future, defeated Katie Perrior’s argument leaving the European Union will cost Britons jobs on production lines. Ms Perrior said: “I absolutely believe that we should leave the European Union because it’s what people voted for. But I will not simply pull out so they don’t get any jobs on production lines.

“I think it’s a responsibility for people in the country to get a sensible deal and a sensible way forward.

“I just don’t buy this argument that the only Brexit available is a no deal Brexit.”

But the furious caller hit back at the old so-called Project Fear prediction and blasted the EU for its “protectionist” nature preventing the UK to trade worldwide.

Lorraine said: “And I don’t buy your argument, we’ve heard it for three and a half years.

We will be independent and free and I want to be able to make trade deals worldwide

“It’s Project Fear Katie. There’s eight percent of businesses who only deal with the EU in this country.

“Eight percent. The majority of businesses do not deal with the EU, they deal internally or abroad.

“I actually believe that we would absolutely thrive when we come out of the EU.

“We will be independent and free and I want to be able to make trade deals worldwide.

“I don’t want to be part of a protectionist bloc which is what the EU is.”

It comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson prepares to defeat MPs’ attempts to force him to request a further extension to the Brexit process by October 19.

Chancellor Sajid Javid confirmed a no deal Brexit may still be on the cards despite the Benn Act’s restrictions which are aimed at delaying the UK’s withdrawal from the EU if there is not an agreement in place.

The Chancellor told the BBC: “Of course, every government should observe all laws at all times.

“We’re taking a careful look at that law.

“But we’re also very clear that our policy has not changed. We will leave on October 31.

“And if you are going to ask me next, how we going to do that? We’re not going to set that out right now. We’re going to focus on trying to get a deal and continue preparations for no-deal, because it may well happen.

“And when we get closer to October 31, we’ll set up exactly the form of our exit.”
