Frantic police search for 13-year-old who may have taken ‘overdose’

Demi West, also known as Kaidan or Kai, is missing after leaving home in the early hours of Saturday morning. The 13-year-old from the Chantry area in Ipswich ran out of the back door of her home, according to distraught mother Hayley West. Demi was last seen at 1:30am running down the Dunlin Road area.

Suffolk police have since launched an urgent search for the teenager.

Local residents are being urged to check their gardens, sheds, and outbuildings.

Ms West issued a frantic plea for her missing child, who she said had taken an “overdose” of an unidentified drug before vanishing.

Posting online about the search, the mother said Kaidan “needs help” with mental health struggles.

Suffolk Police have appealed for help from the public to find the missing teenager.

Dog walkers are also asked to be attentive when walking in woodland areas in Ipswich and to report any information that may assist the police.

The police have deployed a helicopter from the National Police Air Service to help in the search.

Volunteers from Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue are also out in force, as they comb through the suburban residential area in Suffolk.

Suffolk Police have described Kaiden as white, 5ft 3ins tall, with shoulder-length hair which is blonde on one side and dark on the other.

Kaiden was last seen wearing a white top with yellow circles and blue lines, khaki green jogging bottoms, and trainers.
