Food delivery rider is pulled over for cycling down the M5

Police were stunned to pull over a food delivery cyclist – spotted pedaling along a motorway.

Officers posted a picture showing an orange-clad rider with a large food backpack on the M5.

Amazingly the cyclist was unharmed – despite cycling along the hard shoulder during busy Easter Monday traffic.

Gloucestershire Police Special Ops posted the image with the phrase ‘just don’t’ – suggesting it was a Just Eat worker, which has not been confirmed.

They said: “Up there with things not to do on the Motorway, especially on a busy bank holiday. JUST DON’T! Rider dealt with appropriately.”

Just Eat has been contacted for comment by Metro.co.uk.

It’s not the first time police have caught up with wayward cyclists daringly taking to dangerous roads.

Last year, a man suspected of carrying class A drugs was caught pedaling up the M3 at 5am.

Police were called after receiving calls about the risky rider near junction 13 at Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Specialist road officers were called in and asked the cyclist to pull over.

But he continued to peddle, even veering into another lane of traffic, before being forced to stop on the verge.

He was arrested for causing havoc on the road and on suspicion of carrying drugs.
