David Morris captured the mind-blowing sight in Cornwall. He had been looking out to sea from Gillan on the Helford near Helston when he snapped the incredible vision. David said the optical illusion left him “amazed and very baffled”.
David’s picture appears to show a large red and white boat hovering above the water.
The photo was taken on the Cornish coast and shows a beautiful blue sky and blue sea.
The huge vessel appears to be floating above the waves.
The Cornwall Live reported that it is likely the optical illusion was caused by a cloud formation closer to the shore.
The cloud formation seems to have changed the colour of the water closer to the land which makes the ship out at sea look like it’s was floating.
It’s also possible the boat was in a cloudless area and therefore the sky reflected the sea.
