Fears for 'kidnapped' teen seen screaming as she tried to escape from car

A hunt has been launched to find a teenager feared to be abducted in north London.

The girl, thought to be aged between 13 and 15, was seen desperately trying to escape a black Mercedes in Haringey.

Eyewitnesses heard her screaming for help as the vehicle drove on Plevna Crescent on Sunday evening.

She was pulled back into the car as she tried to get out through an open rear window at around 6.40pm.

The Mercedes then turned around and sped off in the direction of St Ann’s Road before turning right into Frinton Road.

The suspected victim is described as black with braided hair. She was wearing red tracksuit bottoms and a red hoodie.

The man driving the car is thought to be a black man with dreadlocks.

Detective Inspector Lyndsey Billaney said: ‘We are taking this report very, very seriously and are pursuing a number of urgent lines of enquiry to try to identify the girl and establish her welfare.

‘Anyone who has information that could help us, or who thinks they know the girl described and has information as to her whereabouts, is urged to call 101 ref CAD 6314/18 Sept immediately.

‘I also urge residents to check dashcam and doorbell footage for any possible sightings of a black Mercedes in the area.’
