FBI searching home of Donald Trump's vice president for classified documents

The FBI has started searching the home of ex-President Donald Trump’s vice president after classified documents were discovered there.

Former Vice President Mike Pence’s aides agreed to the Friday morning search at his Indiana home after talking with the Justice Department, sources told The New York Times.

‘There have been conversations about a consensual search to be conducted, and I presume that’s not too far off into the future,’ Pence’s former chief of staff Marc Short told CNN earlier this week.

Pence traveled to California this week for the birth of his granddaughter.

One of Pence’s aides had uncovered classified documents at his home in Indianapolis last month.

Justice Department officials reportedly began discussing and scheduling the search with Pence’s legal team last week.

The search began a day after the Justice Department reportedly subpoenaed Pence in relation to a special counsel’s probe into Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

A spokesperson for Pence did not immediately comment on the matter.
