The police have reportedly been given the name by two different sources.

Olivia Pratt-Korbel was killed on Monday evening after a man being chased by a shooter forced his way into her family’s home.

The 9-year-old-girl was in the “wrong place at the wrong time”, investigators said.

The 35-year-old man being chased by the shooter entered the family home after Olivia’s mum, Cheryl Korbel, opened the door to see what the commotion was.

The balaclava-clad gunman tried to push through the door, before firing a shot at the 35-year-old man.

He then fired a second shot which injured Cheryl on the wrist and hit Olivia in the chest.

Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell welcomed the news that two people had come forward with the same name.

She said: “I’m really pleased to hear information is coming forward.

“It was the plea that was put out yesterday – we know somebody out there will know what happened and who is involved.”

Ms Pratt-Korbel is currently recovering in hospital.

The man being chased is at another hospital.

He is in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

Police are yet to speak to him and he has not been arrested.
