Everyone is saying the same thing about Meghan Markle’s beige dress for LA gala

Meghan Markle made a new appearance last week when she attended Variety’s Power of Women gala in Los Angeles.

The Duchess of Sussex looked chic in a beige off-the-shoulder maxi dress by New York-based designer Proenza Schouler.

The “Rosa” one-shoulder draped matte viscose crepe maxi dress retails for £1,114.

Prince Harry’s wife paired the gown with a black clutch bag from the brand.

She also wore Aquazzura’s “Dangerous Liaisons 105” black suede/patent pumps, which retail for £695.

Meghan paired the whole ensemble with dainty gold jewellery.

But it looks like her colour choice did not impress royal fans, who branded the dress “bland and boring”.

In a post showcasing Meghan’s outfit on Instagram, one user said: “Looks bland and boring and beige. Lipstick [lipstick emoi] matches it, does nothing for her,” while another one added: “She looks fantastic and fresh but I do not love this color on her, maybe in black, it would’ve looked more elegant. It kind of looks like a drape.”

A third one said: “I love the dress but would love to have seen it in another colour perhaps [question face emoji] I find the colour to be a bit blah but she always looks beautiful [starstruck emoji] so good for her. Also as someone mentioned a bigger earring would have looked great as the mini hoops she is wearing get a tad lost.”

The duchess has previously talked about not wearing bright colours and choosing neutral hues in a bid to blend in with the Royal Family.

Talking on her and Harry’s docuseries on Netflix, “Harry & Meghan”, the duchess opened up about her fashion choices as she was seen being fitted for her bright red Carolina Herrera gown ahead of the Salute to Freedom Gala in New York in 2021.

Meghan said she wanted to avoid any fashion faux pas and avoid “embarrassing” The Firm.

She said that she opted for colours that were not popular among royals including camel, beige, white and “muted tones”.

She added: “It also was so I could just blend in. Like, I’m not trying to stand out here.”
