Today (Tuesday, March 16) is draw day for EuroMillions and lottery fans will be hoping Lady Luck is on their side, with an impressive jackpot hanging in the balance. To be in for the chance to win the huge £61million top prize, players will need to match five main numbers and two Lucky Stars. EuroMillions jackpots are always a staggering sum of money, but previous winners of the jackpot have used their money to make a real difference.

Frances Connolly and her husband Patrick won the £115 million EuroMillions jackpot on New Year’s Day in 2019.

Since winning the jackpot, the couple has given away more than half of their winnings and set up charities.

In an interview with The Times, Mrs Connolly said: “I look for a bargain everywhere I go and check the bank every month to see what I’m paying for gas and electric.

“I’ve got a big jar with coppers and coins in it, it’s a whiskey bottle, my dad gave it to me years ago. Every time it gets full, it goes to charity.”

How do you play EuroMillions?

To be in for a shot of winning the staggering EuroMillions jackpot, EuroMillions draws take place every Tuesday and Friday and it costs £2.50 to play.

You can purchase EuroMillions tickets online via the National Lottery website between 6am and 11pm.

However, to buy a EuroMillions ticket on a draw day, players will need to buy their ticket by 7.30pm.

Players need to pick five main numbers from 1 to 50, along with two Lucky Stars from 1 to 12.

Players also have the option of having some random numbers selected for them with a Lucky Dip.

You can play up to seven lines of numbers and buy up to 10 play slips at a time.

By purchasing a ticket for EuroMillions, players have an extra chance to win some big cash with the UK Millionaire Maker game.

Every EuroMillions ticket purchased also counts as an entry into the UK Millionaire Maker, which sees one lucky winner guaranteed £1million in every EuroMillions draw.

In the UK, players must be aged 16 or over to play EuroMillions.
