Speaking to Sky News the Minister for Energy, Clean Growth and Climate Change dampened the nation’s mood as she ordered England fans to “stay at home” to prevent the spread of coronavirus ahead of Saturday’s game. Ms Trevelyan insisted Covid guidance “has been clearly set out” by ministers despite jubilant scenes of celebrating England fans up and down the country as England sent the Germans packing with a blistering 2-0 defeat at Wembley. Her comments come as Italian ministers are demanding Three Lions fans quarantine for 5-days on arrival in Rome ahead of Saturday’s game against Ukraine.
