Eight people hospitalized as train derails after hitting truck on the tracks
Eight people are injured after a train carrying 190 passengers hit a truck on the tracks and derailed in California.
An Amtrak train struck a truck in Moorpark on Wednesday afternoon that caused three of its seven cars to go off the tracks, according to Ventura County Fire Department Captain Brian McGrath.
Around 1.30pm local time, the fire department tweeted that eight patients were transported – one with moderate and seven with minor injuries.
‘Passengers continue to be evaluated,’ wrote the fire department. ‘All trains have been searched with all occupants out and no passengers requiring extrication.’
