EasyJet emergency: Flight to London Gatwick declares alert over Paris

The flight took off from Geneva in Switzerland at around 9.35pm local time. However, the pilots issued an alert over Paris. The Airbus A320 was scheduled to land at London Gatwick at around 10.05pm.

Twitter account Airlive revealed the plane was being allowed to land at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport.

No official reason has been given for the diversion although reports on social media suggest it was caused by a medical emergency onboard.

Flight radar sites confirmed the jet landed safely at the Paris capital soon after the emergency was declared.

The drama comes just a day after an Air Canada plane was forced to divert to Madrid airport in Spain.

The passenger jet reportedly suffered damaged landing gear.

The Air Canada plane finally landed after circling Madrid to burn off fuel to reduce the jet’s weight before landing.
