Duchess Sophie looks gorgeous in pearl tea dress – but fans issue one request

Duchess Sophie looked sensational in an all-black ensemble on Tuesday during day one of her four-day visit to Colombia.

The Duchess of Edinburgh donned a beautiful long-sleeved, midi dress which featured pearls all over.

Sophie wore the “Aria” Pearl Dots Tea Dress by British designer Suzannah London, which retails at £1,150.

She paired the dress with a chic Helmut Lang Gala Stretch-Twill Blazer in black, which retails at £375.

The royal’s outfit sent fashion enthusiasts into a frenzy but many noted the outfit would have looked better with a different blazer and shoes.

One royal fan said on Instagram: “How to ruin a beautiful dress with the wrong shoes and a blazer..[sad face emoji”, while another one wrote: “The dress is lovely. I actually wish she didn’t wear the blazer with it.”

A third one added: “I love this dress. She looks really nice. I would have preferred it more with a longer coat though.”

Another Instagram user suggested she should have worn a different blazer and shoes saying: “How to ruin a beautiful dress with the wrong shoes and a blazer..”, while another one added: “Nice, but with different shoes.”

Duchess Sophie is visiting Colombia at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
